A life spent paying attention
to people, place and the way we live.

From the built environment to the natural world,
from rooms to bodies, Healing Time | Healing Home
grew from a much longer inquiry.

Where time becomes sanctuary

MY FIRST CLASSROOM

WAS THE WORLD.

I began my professional life at the World Bank, in an environment where countries, cultures, development, and the built environment were part of everyday conversation.

I traveled — and became deeply curious about the places we build, the places that existed long before us, and the ways both shape who we become.

Long before I had language for Healing Time | Healing Home, I was already paying attention to the relationship between people and place.

Design has a language. Place has a language. Culture has a language. So do relationships, energy, perception, and consciousness.

LEARNING TO LISTEN

IN MORE THAN
ONE LANGUAGE.

Language has followed me throughout my life. French was my first language; English became my everyday language, Italian in college, and Spanish through the World Bank. There - it was a way into people, cultures, and the systems that shape our lives.

For a time, my neighbor was Ambassador Vernon Walters, the renowned polyglot and diplomat advisor to presidents. Over the years I came to recognize that I had become a different kind of polyglot—one versed in many systems of communication.

Design and architecture taught me the language of place: proportion, light, material, movement, function, and the ways environments affect the people within them.

Feng shui, hands-on healing, energy work, and decades of inquiry into consciousness introduced languages that are less visible, but no less intriguing.

Over time, I began to realize that not every language is spoken.

They live in relationships.
In bodies.
In memory.
In light, sound, rhythm,
objects, landscape and place.

People don’t live
in square footage.

SOME PLACES HOLD MEMORY

SOME PLACES SHAPE US

WE SHAPE PLACES IN RETURN

THEN I LEARNED TO DESIGN

FROM THE INSIDE OUT.

Interior design gave me another scale of observation.

Not nations. Not landscapes. Rooms. Homes. Institutions.
The places where individual lives actually unfold.

Over the years, my work has included private homes, institutional environments, luxury communities, wellness healthcare, government and consulting. Across all of them, I kept returning to the same question:

What conditions help a human life function well?
